BOOKS ON TAPE

I have bought Nikki 2 of these and I am amazed at how easily he follows the stories and how much he enjoys listening to them again and again. When we get back to Manila, I am getting him more of these.

.....

Here's something from HomeschoolFreeStuff newsletter...

I think my tip is so simple, maybe it has already been suggested. I have found that there are a lot of moms who have not thought of it-- Anyway, we have bought a number of books on tape, along with the accompanying book. We keep these in the car and my daughter loves listening to them. (Her friends also really enjoy listening when we pick them up for a playdate.) We also go to the library and check out additional books on tape, which adds to the variety that she gets to listen to. We have a number of excellent libraries in the area and they have quite a lot of selection of children's books on tape, as well as intro to language books on tape (spanish, etc.), phonic books, math books on tape, etc. If your library has a book reading program, you can get some of the books read this way.

It is great to be able to use the car ride time efficiently, have your child reading along with a book, and it also makes the ride more fun! One of the reasons that I thought of this was that was when I was working and going to school - Nursing School and then Law School- I would tape lectures and then listen to them while in transit to help with my studying-- so this concept can be used at a variety of educational levels. I hope that this tip can help others!
